Made from a grape that almost went extinct in the early 2000s, this superb example is rich and layered with subtle notes of flowers and stone fruit. The depth and complexity of this wine builds as it opens. It can also age very well, developing even more depth, yet retaining freshness.
Timorasso was brought back from extinction by Walter Massa and a dedicated group of disciples and was awarded DOC status in 2011 because of the advocacy of that group, believing that Timorasso, this notoriously delicate grape, yields perhaps Italy's greatest white wine; full-bodied yet smoothly elegant and made for longevity. Giacomo Boveri is one of those disciples and grows the vines and makes the wine with his wife Sara Bonadeo. Harvesting is done by hand and fermentation and ageing takes place in stainless steel tanks.
